Good quality
Spindle shaft w/ bearings seems like a good quality shaft. I would purchase an impact wrench before attempting to remove the old one. I used this on a Husqvarna 42" due to striped stars. For this mower the shaft is a little long, about 1/8" I used the old washer and added it to the top of the pulley otherwise the threads will bottom out. Nothing major, well worth the money. Shipping was ok; packing could be a little better.

Loose steering - replace this
This part is what you need to replace when steering on your riding lawnmower gets sloppy. Replace it early before the gears start skipping teeth or you will need to replace the steering shaft gear also.

This part is prone to "oval out" where the end of the steering shaft goes through and allow the steering shaft gear to come out of good mesh with the sector gear which causes failure of all three parts if allowed to go too far..

Perfect fit, perfect performance,
These shafts are perfect fit, and work perfectly with my Craftsman. I did a little research on line and found Sears part numbers that were cross-referenced with Husqvarna part numbers. Half the cost of Sears!!!

In response to the other reviewers. One person probably ordered the wrong part. Since many other models have parts that are almost identical, they probably ordered by what "looked" correct instead of cross referencing part numbers. If your old nut doesn't fit, you probably ordered the wrong shaft, or you had the wrong shaft in the first place.

The other review talks about broken mandrels. I have to replace mandrels constantly because I have a lot of rocks on my property. You break a mandrel when you hit a large or immovable object. The mandrels are made out of cast aluminum and crack very easily. It has nothing to do with how tight the nuts are. The shaft and blade nuts will naturally become very tight due to the rotation of the entire assembly.
