Perfect fit for Home Depot's 38" Poulan XT, Model PXT12538
The 38" Poulan XT, model PXT12538 lawn tractor we purchased in the summer of 2010 appears to have been a private label model made exclusively for Home Depot. While seemingly identical to other 2010 Poulan 38" lawn tractors, model PXT12538 is not listed anywhere on Poulan's website.
This causes a big problem when trying to purchase accessories. If Home Depot does not carry the accessory you want, how do you know which of the official Poulan accessories to order, when the new tractor you just purchased is not listed on their website?
Taking a chance, I ordered this mulch kit from Amazon and I'm happy to report that the spare blades are identical to what came with the tractor and that the discharge plug fit the deck perfectly.
Just what I needed to chop up those ankle deep leaves last fall!
Amazon has the correct 2-bin bagger as well. It's part number 960730022. Both items get five stars from me.

Works great but heads up about a safety issue

First and formost - It Works, no if ands or buts. Like any self mulching tractor, you must go slow in long grass to properly mulch it and leave no deposits. Installation: Super easy, less than 2 minutes for the cover itself. I brought this up because I did see other reviews that felt otherwise. The blades on your tractor are in fact identical, so I put the new ones on the shelf as a back up.
SAFETY ISSUE: Please let me advise you of in my opinion an important safety issue. I was lucky, I did not get hurt at all but I could see how one might so let me post this for your benefit. The cover is made of a plastic material, unlike the metal cover on the right side. I was cutting and accidentally ran into a small boulder bordering one of my garden beds. The speed and mass of the tractor against the rock caused the cover to flex, hitting the spinning blade just inside it. This is a must have for a 38" Riding Mower
I was quite surprised by the unit. I liked how the blocking part of the kit, covers the area where grass would normally shoot out. As another posted, a no grass flying up onto yourself while driving the mower. The first time I used the mower, I had grass flying up all over me with the Poulan Pro XT mower; with this kit, I was clean as all the grass was cut real fine and left into the grass.
